April Butcher is from Sacramento, CA and has established a consistent and long track record in raising funds for community efforts.  She learned to fundraise at the grassroots for women, children, and democracy causes.  When she received her MBA from The F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, Babson College she decided to take that history and turn her professional career toward non-profit management. 

“I have worked long and hard for democracy efforts around the country and have come to see the Library as one of the most democratic institutions in the United States.  Everyone can come into a public library and everyone has equal access to its resources.  The primary relationship I had to the library growing up in Sacramento was the book mobile which came once a week.  It was the book mobile that provided me with the opportunity to satisfy my curiosity about what was going on in the world around me.”
