Libraries have been a part of society for more then 2000 years. Free public libraries in America was a vision Andrew Carnegie had, and created, when, in the beginning of the 20th century, he gave money to municipalities to build libraries that would be free to the public. Our own downtown Central Library is one of those Carnegie Libraries.

Giving to the Sacramento Public Library is how you can give to your community. It’s a trusted institution with resources that educate, entertain, and enable.  It is a place where all people are welcome and all are treated equally. Your support will continue this tradition and secure Sacramento’s libraries for future generations.

You're in good company!
The Foundation gratefully acknowledges these generous donors.
